For supporters
The beta channel
Supporters get new versions of Sidekick first. Same app, same data, earlier builds.
What it is
Before a version reaches everyone, it ships as a beta: a pre-release on GitHub that the app's updater can pick up. Betas carry the newest features and fixes, and now and then a rough edge. Your meetings, reviews and routes stay exactly where they are; a beta never removes or rewrites what you already have.
How to turn it on
- Become a supporter. Your receipt carries a supporter key.
- In Sidekick, open Settings › Supporter and choose Enter a supporter key.
- Paste the key. The Supporter section now reads Beta channel: new versions reach you first, and the next update check looks for betas too.
One key works on up to three Macs. To move it, remove it in Settings › Supporter on the Mac you no longer use.
If you stop supporting
The app keeps working exactly the same. The updater goes back to stable releases, and the next stable version replaces the beta when it is newer. Nothing else changes.
Found something?
Beta reports are the most useful ones. Open an issue and mention the version from Settings › About.
Support Sidekick
Supporting pays for the work and the community library. It is never required for any feature of the app.
